After much delay I think we’re actually boarding the plane to Hong Kong. Then it’s off to Manila! See you in 2 weeks.
I had my 1st official Weight Watchers weigh in yesterday and the final result is…
4.2 lbs!!!! I’ve lost 4.2 lbs in just 1 week. Of course this is mostly water weight, but I’ll take it. This new Points Plus plan is great. I’m never hungry, and have actually had a hard time eating enough to meet my points allocation. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up the program while I’m abroad for 2 weeks. This will be the biggest challenge I’m going to face with this diet, but if I can make it through this I can definitely achieve my goal.
I want to buy a pedometer for while I’m in the Philippines. I can then convert my walking into activity points…which means I can eat more 🙂 Does anyone have suggestions for a reliable pedometer?
I’ve been so busy adjusting my life to my new boss and my new diet that I’ve completely lost track of time and blogging! So my apologies for not checking in sooner.
Tomorrow is weigh in day. I’m slightly nervous, but I think it’s going to be a good result. I slipped slightly on Friday night- my girlfriends and I went to dinner at my favorite pizza place then out for drinks at the local watering hole. But I countered that evening’s semi-binging with a long walk around the condo complex. Fingers crossed!
Since I’ve sworn off buying clothes while I’m dieting, I’ve been satiating my shopping compulsion with accessories! Sunday afternoon I went to a Stella & Dot party. This was my first S&D party, and I was blow away at how
expensive cute everything was. I had to control myself since I plan on spending mucho pesos in the Philippines, but here’s what I got:
I can’t wait for them to get here! Hopefully it will be before I leave next week.
I woke up yesterday feeling not so hot, but by the time 5pm rolled around I was knocking down death’s door. So I sped home and made sweet love to NyQuil. I was asleep by 8:30 and didn’t wake up again until 7am this morning. Unfortunately I’m still dying. I’ll be picking up the miracle drug tonight…also known as a Z-Pak!
On to bigger and better things…I signed up for Weight Watchers today! The last time I joined WW I lost 32 lbs, so I’m hoping for a similar result and to keep it off this time. Needless to say my initial weigh in was less than thrilling. In fact it was down right DISGUSTING!!! But I’m going to use this as my motivation to achieve my New Year’s resolution to fit into my favorite jeans again. So every Thursday I’ll be giving you an update on my progress, and pass along any tips I pick up along the way.
Weigh in date: January 13, 2011
Starting weight: 229.2 lbs (gasp)
Wish me luck!
Once again the
weathermen meteorologists got it wrong. The expected 6-12″ of snow turned out to only be about 4″ total. This means that I didn’t have my work snow day that I was so anticipating, and even worse that I won’t get to watch the new DVD set I bought last night- SHE-RA!!!
Do any of you remember this cartoon? She-Ra was He-Man’s twin sister and came with her own band of merry men to fight the forces of the evil Horde. I can’t wait to open this baby up!
I think Miss Liss is going to be dressing up as She-Ra for Halloween this year. It will probably be amazing!
I’m still trying to recover from this weekend’s festivities.
I took it easy Friday night. Miss Liss and I stayed in and watched movies. First up was Dinner for Schmucks. The first hour of the movie was relatively funny, but I was getting so uncomfortable watching Steve Carrell’s character because he is so extremely socially awkward. But when the dinner scene comes around, I absolutely lost it. This may be one of the funniest displays of comedy I’ve seen in a long time. Between the blind fencer and the animal medium I just about peed my pants.
Next we watched Despicable Me. I’ve been dying to see this movie since the previews showing the little girl and the “It’s so FLUFFY!!!” unicorn. This movie did not disappoint. It was cute and funny, and Jason Segel is FABOO as the main character’s arch nemesis- Vector. If I didn’t love him enough before, I’m officially head over heels in love with Jason Segel. Jason if you’re reading this…call me!
Saturday night I went into Hoboken with My Midget for the birthday of one of her best friends. I knew it was going to be a hysterical night when we first arrived because we somehow walked into an office birthday party that was serving free food and cocktails. I think we even made it into a couple group shots!
After the office party broke up we headed to our reserved table where things just got ridiculous! The boys we were with were extremely well trained and kept the drinks coming. We finally left at 2:30 when the bouncer more or less shoved us out the door. I didn’t actually get home until about 4:30am.
This was my recovery day. I somehow got sucked into the TLC marathon of Sarah Palin’s Alaska. It was kind of like a train wreck, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. Although I’m now tempted to take a trip up to Alaska because it is beautiful. If she was looking to increase tourism in her state, then job well done Sarah.
Now it’s back to work. Hopefully this week will be easier than last week with the new boss man. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
So some very exciting news has emerged this weekend…David & Victoria Beckham are expecting Baby Becks #4!!! Like the rest of her fans, I’m hoping it’s finally a little girl for Posh & Becks. Mostly because it would be a complete & utter shame not to share VB’s amazing closet with a daughter. Mazel tov to the entire Beckham clan!
I’ve been a bit m.i.a. lately because this was my first week back at work after the extended holiday vacation, and my new manager started on Monday. Apparently my kindergarten teacher was right, I DO NOT work well with others. I’m exhausted from trying to train this guy, and he’s just not getting it. Not to mention he talks, and talks, and talks, and talks. Thanks dude, but I got it the first 15 times you said it.
To reward myself for making it through the week without killing someone I went to my sanctuary…THE MALL. Here’s what I got:
Silk tunic from Anthropologie…buy it here.
Nike Free Run sneakers to kick start my New Year’s Resolution to get back into those old jeans…buy them here.
I’m not going to make any major clothing investments until I lose some weight, so hopefully that will be sooner than later because there is a lot of cute stuff out there.
